As the Vice President of the Pawleys Island Litchfield Business Association, I am delighted to announce that the recipient of this year’s PILBA Festival of Wreaths is my favorite charity, GOOD FRIENDS of Georgetown County, a non-profit organization that helps disadvantaged residents of Georgetown County.
Gorgeous wreaths created by local businesses, artists and residents have already started coming in. The wreaths will be auctioned November 20 – 22, 2019, online and at the festival site in the Sweet Grass Center across from Fresh Market.
The reason I am so fond of Good Friends, is that they assist local individuals and families who have exhausted every other means of support. Recipients are chosen by Georgetown County’s Department of Social Services and approved by the Good Friends Board of Directors. Available funds are used for one-time needs including food, shelter, medical expenses, transportation, & other similar needs with a limit of a maximum of up to $300 per recipient per year.
The Pawleys Island Litchfield Business Association is delighted to host the Festival of Wreaths to not only help our local residents in need, but to also bolster the “Shop Small,” and “Shop Local” initiatives in Pawleys Island and Litchfield, just in time for Christmas.
Online and on-site Bidding starts at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 20 and continues until 4:00 Friday, November 22. The Live Auction at the WREATH FEST PARTY on Friday night, November 22, 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
