Meet DeBordieu Club’s Amie Philo!

I love touring prospective DeBordieu buyers and club members around the DeBordieu amenities, including the magnificent Golf Clubhouse. But my favorite part of the clubhouse tour, and the one that has the biggest impact on my prospects, is when we step into the pro shop and get the Amie Philo greeting!

Instantly, the warm welcome puts my buyers at ease, and if the Mrs. plays golf, she is comforted by the fact that DeBordieu has a Lady Golf Professional.

Following in her father’s footsteps, Amie has been in the golf business her whole life, and has played golf for as long as she can remember. After attending Coastal Carolina University on a full golf scholarship, Amie worked at Maggie Valley Resort Golf & Country Club in Asheville, NC. Amie is DeBordieu’s 2nd Assistant Golf Professional as well as the Merchandiser/Buyer for the Club. She is working toward her PGA Class A status and has just one more level to complete this stage of her career. She recently passed her Player Ability Test in June which allows her to teach at DeBordieu Club! A schedule of Amie’s teaching times and clinics will be published soon.

“I will most likely have my PGA card by 2013, she said, “and am looking forward to carrying that title and honor. Many people have inspired me along the way, but the most encouragement and support I’ve received started when I took this job at DeBordieu. My boss Shawn Roper, PGA, has been my mentor since day one. He makes me believe in myself and makes me strive for greatness.”

I’m guessing there’s one in particular that really fits that bill… Amie actually met her husband at DeBordieu, as did I. “The reason DeBordieu is so important to me is because this place is molding me to be the best me I can be. I work with an unbelievable team of people who inspire me every day. I look forward to every new day and every new adventure.”
