Good Friends of Georgetown County is my favorite Local Charity. Which is why when they asked me to speak at this year’s luncheon, I was honored.
Then I was told that the other speaker invited to speak was Ed Piotrowski.
While I’m still honored and excited to talk about my inspiring meeting with one of the recipients of the funds raised by Good Friends, I’m a bit nervous. I’ll be sharing the stage with THE Ed Piotrowski.
So if you are going to be at the luncheon this year on Dec. 12 at DeBordieu, please say a little prayer for me that God will calm my nerves, and equip me to do what I know he has called me to do, which is to basically speak when others cannot. (Now you know why I talk so much, LOL).
Knowing that after I speak, I get to present Good Friends with a great big check from the Pawleys Island Litchfield Business Association’s Festival of Wreaths fund raiser that I co-chaired in November with Leigh Reid Hope of First Trust Mortgage, makes me feel a bit less-nervous, and a little more excited!
If you are NOT going to the luncheon, are a DeBordieu resident, and would like to participate in another great fund raiser for Good Friends, you may want to consider the DeBordieu Home and Garden Club’s Holiday Dinner event on Sunday, December 8, at the Clubhouse.
Aptly named “Winter Wonderland at DeBordieu,” the event promises a tantalizing feast for the eyes and palate! It’s also a great way to start the holiday season! 5:30 PM Cocktails/ Signature Bar, 6:30 PM Dinner
DHGC Members $60pp, Non-Members $80pp.
($10 from each ticket goes directly to the charity).

The recipients of the funds raised by Good Friends of Georgetown County are those who face a financial crisis that threatens basic human needs. One-time assistance is provided for food, shelter, medical expenses, utilities, transportation, etc. and is limited to $300/year/recipient. The recipients are determined by DSS.
