Palmetto Giving Day is an online giving event for Georgetown County. This year, it’s a 36 hour event starting on Tuesday, May 5 and ending at noon on May 6.
Last year’s Palmetto Giving Day was a huge success, surpassing $1.2 million for 48 nonprofit organizations serving Georgetown County. In all, 2,165 individual donations were made to Georgetown nonprofits!
The grassroots effort began in 2017. Since its inception, Palmetto Giving Day has raised over $2.9 million dollars. With your help, we can make Georgetown County an even better place to live, work and play.
This year, my favorite local Charity, Good Friends of Georgetown County is participating. I was so fortunate to speak at the Good Friends annual luncheon this year along side my new best friend, Weatherman Ed Piotrowski.
Good Friends is a very important charity, particularly this year, because it helps financially challenged residents of Georgetown County through the Department of Social Services. With the COVID-19 pandemic, those needs will be even greater.
