The Harbor Historical Association of Georgetown will present the 23nd Annual Wooden Boat Show on Saturday, October 20, 2012 from 11 AM to 6 PM. The show features one of the nation’s premier wooden boat exhibits, a wooden boatbuilding competition, children’s model boatbuilding, knot tying, maritime art and crafts, food and music. More than 100 classic wooden boats will be on display, and visitors will be able to meet and talk to wooden boat craftsmen, manufacturers and owners. According to Rob Dwelley of Wooden Boat Magazine, this is “the Super Bowl of Boatbuilding! Only those who have seen it can begin to understand what drives these men and their thousands of annual spectators.”
Wooden Boat Show events will take place on the waterfront and along Front Street in Historic Downtown Georgetown. The Show is produced by the Harbor Historical Association, a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. Funds procured through sales and donations will go toward the continued development of the Georgetown Maritime Museum. Admission is free to the public.
