In an interview with CBS News, Charlie Rose takes a good look at the woman behind Garden & Gun’s success, Rebecca Darwin, the President and CEO of the media company she partners with Pierre Manigualt and DeBordieu resident, J. Edward Bell, III, that owns Garden & Gun. In just four years, the magazine has become one of the industry’s most successful, and a favorite among DeBordieu owners.
When asked what she wanted readers to know most about the south, she replied, “that we’re all not stupid,” which just cracked me up. My other favorite quote came from David DiBenedetto, the editor and chief. When talking about the content of the magazine, he said there would be “no religion, no politics, and no SEC football.” How refreshing! Chris Kiliveros of Flowers on Broadway, who provides the lovely flowers for DeBordieu Club, will hold a HOLIDAY WORKSHOP for
DeBordieu Club members and their guests on Thursday, December 1 at the Clubhouse. That evening, DeBordieu Club Golf Champions will be honored at the 2011 WINTER GOLF AWARDS BANQUET.
The DeBordieu CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING to be held this Saturday, December 3, is a favorite event among DeBordieu residents!
There is no better way to get into the Christmas spirit with friends and family! Held at the Pavilion (a.k.a. the Old Beach Club) the food is always fabulous,

Creek Night at New and Improved DeBordieu Pavilion!
It’s everyone’s favorite event. It’s casual. It’s fun. And with the new improvements made to the DeBordieu Pavilion (a.k.a. the Olde Beach Club), it was a very special event, indeed!
Residents of this private oceanfront community just south of Pawleys Island, SC enjoyed dining on seafood delecacies caught in the creeks of North Inlet and prepared by their fellow neighbors.
Here are some pictures from the event, as well as some of the changes that have been made to the Pavilion.
Congratulations to the DeBordieu Club’s Property Committee and to it’s chair, Wayne Rogers, for the wonderful improvements that include:
NEW Toilets (ADA accessible), with outside access
NEW Kitchen with new stainless steel equipment,
including warming box and refrigerator.
NEW Lighting Fixtures and Fans, with repairs to the electrical system.
NEW Heat and AC for the toilets and kitchen
NEW wood and paint
NEW pool equipment/storage room
