It’s shaping up to be a GREAT 4th of July Weekend for DeBordieu members and their guests at the private, oceanfront, golf community just south of Pawleys Island, South Carolina. One of the highlights of the weekend will be the Salute from the Shore! Here’s a video from last year’s Salute from Shore on DeBordieu Beach:
This year, the folks at DeBordieu will be holding a 30×60 foot flag as Air Force F-16 “Vipers” flown by 77th Fighter Squadron “The Gamblers” of the 20th Fighter Wing from Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter, SC execute a low altitude Flyover of the SC coast as participants Salute from the Shore wearing and waving the red, white and blue. The goal is to have 1 million people on the beaches and to capture the event on video from land and from the air. Everyone is asked to submit their own Patriotic videos, pictures and comments to salute@salutefromtheshore.org or to their Facebook Fan Page at “Salute from the Shore.”

Big weekend coming up at DeBordieu!
From Breakfast with the Easter Bunny & Easter Egg Hunt, to the Sunrise Service & fabulous Easter Buffet, DeBordieu owners and their guests are sure to enjoy what has become one of the most special holiday weekends at DeBordieu!

All the fun at DeBordieu begins Saturday morning at the Golf Clubhouse. I understand there still a couple of spots open for Breakfast with that Bunny. The delicious menu features an Omelet Station, Bacon, Sausage, Biscuits & Gravy, Scrambled Eggs, Grits, French Toast, Home Fries, Pastries and Fresh Fruit.
The Easter egg hunt will begin promptly at 10:30 AM in the Courtyard behind the Golf Clubhouse. Don’t forget to bring your own basket!
Hitting the Beach Saturday? Plan to enjoy “DOGS ON THE DECK!” at the ocean front beach club: Hotdogs, chips and soft drinks will be available.
The traditional Easter Sunrise Service starts at 6:30 AM at the Beach Club with Rick Richardson, Lay Speaker at Duncan United Methodist Church. Watching that sun come up over the Atlantic on an occasion as special as Easter is truly a spiritual experience.
Sunday afternoon, the Easter Buffet will include a variety of selections from the Chef including Soup and Salad Bar, Assorted Breads and Rolls, Salmon, Scrambled Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, Grits, Shrimp with Tasso Gravy, Roasted Baby Vegetables, Macaroni & Cheese, Rice Pilaf, Potatoes au Gratin, Chicken Marsala, Bourbon Glazed Ham, Prime Rib with Au Jus and Assorted Desserts. Please call (843) 546-2410 for reservations and specify which room you would prefer to dine in: In the Sunroom and Dining Room jackets are required. Easy as Pie….”Derby-Dieu” Pie!
Savvy Realtors up and down the coast have realized that it is wise to bring their Luxury Buyer Clients to DeBordieu, the private, oceanfront, golf community just south of Pawleys Island, South Carolina. And I have so much fun encouraging them to do just that, particularly around the holiday

Last week I loaded up my car with delicious “Derby-Dieu” pies, home-made by my very own elf, Sharon Shirer, who works in the DeBordieu Rental Department. I delivered these pies to local real estate agencies in the Pawleys Island area to remind the realtors that bringing their clients to DeBordieu was as easy as PIE!
The note said “In 
2011, lets shoot for the sky, but in the mean time enjoy this “Derby-Dieu” Pie. They all know I’m a big corn-ball, so they got a kick out of the thought, as well as the melt-in-your mouth pie!
Then on Friday I attended the big Coastal Carolina Association of Realtors Holiday Lunc
heon at Pawleys Plantation.
My friend/colleague, Leigh Reid Hope, of First Trust Mortgage was doing a promotional drawing for a weekend at her beautiful Fairway Oaks Villa at DeBordieu. Congratulations to Mr. Dave Alexander, for winning the weekend!

Santa Visits DeBordieu!
He arrived by fire truck, listened to everyone’s Christmas wishes, and witnessed the lighting of the beautiful tree at DeBordieu’s Pavilion Rec Center, just south of Pawleys Island, South Carolina.
The delicious buffet featured everything from Roast Beast to Shrimp ‘n Grits.
The blazing fire provided warmth and perfectly roasted marshmallows for yummy S ‘mores, enjoyed by children of all ages.
