The Club at DeBordieu never ceases to come up with new and exciting ideas for the members! This Thursday, October 25th,…. it’s RAT PACK Night!

DeBordieu member and their guests will enjoy a three course dinner before stepping back in time with Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra and even Marilyn Monroe!  It will be a fun filled evening and one you won’t want to miss. Cocktails will begin at 6:00 PM, Dinner will be served at 6:30, and the Show will start at 7:30. The menu will include: Classic Caesar Salad, Beef Wellington, Whipped Idaho Potato with Chives and Sour Cream, Asparagus, Sauce Béarnaise and Chocolate Mousse Cake

Cost: $40.00 per person and includes dinner and the show.

CREEK NIGHT at DeBordieu!

Creek Night is one of DeBordieu’s longest-standing traditions, and one of the most delicious!

Oysters, flounder, and all kinds of delicious dishes prepared by DeBordieu residents will be enjoyed at the DeBordieu Beach Club Pavilion Thursday night, October 18 from 6-9. It’s a community association function Co-Chaired this year by DeBordieu residents Jane and Jim Cooper & Reenee and Bob Flowers.

DeBordieu Beach Sweep

It’s not too late to participate! DeBordieu Beach Sweep starts at 2:00. Meet at the Blue Heron Deck.

Beach Sweep/River Sweep is South Carolina’s largest one-day volunteer cleanup event of its kind. Every 3rd Saturday in September, thousands of South Carolinians clear beaches, rivers, lakes, marshes, and swamps of aquatic debris. The cleanup, organized by the S.C. Sea Grant Consortium and S. C. Department of Natural Resources, has taken place annually since 1988 – when Sea Grant first started it. The Sweep takes place in conjunction with the International Coastal Cleanup, coordinated by the Ocean Conservancy. Once the Sweep is over, the Ocean Conservancy tallies all of  the debris data. This data helps us learn the sources of litter so we can stop pollution before it starts.

According to DeBordieu Beach Sweep Coordinator, Geoff Groat, “our beach stays in very pristine condition because of the pride our owners have in caring for it; however, the ocean does deposit materials we need to deal with. Beach Sweep is just one of the many Community projects that take place each year, and is just one more example of why DeBordieu remains such a very special place.”

Georgetown ROCKS the Equinox!

Just 4 miles south of DeBordieu, is the peaceful, quiet, historic port city of Georgetown, South Carolina. It won’t be so quiet NEXT weekend, because the GEORGETOWN ROCKS the EQUINOX Music Festival will be held in the historic commercial district from 2:00 pm to 11:00 pm on Saturday, September 22nd.

On the day of the event Front St. will be closed from Orange to Screven Street. There will be two stages and two beer gardens with eleven bands performing. The Blue Dogs, lowcountry legends of bluegrass and rock and roll, will be the headlining band for this year’s festival.

Festivals like this are part of what makes living in DeBordieu so special. Whether is rock music or classical that floats your boat, there’s always some kind of musical entertainment going on.
