When I saw the article last week in the Georgetown Times about the owners of Augustus & Carolina, it truly made me smile. David and Kathyrn Kossove are delightful people with whom I’ve had the opportunity to become acquainted through listing their oceanfront home in DeBordieu. But the article speaks volumes about their background, about which, I had no idea. Click Here to read this great article.
In 2004, the Kossoves decided to move to Georgetown County, finding a beach front home in the DeBordieu Colony, a gated community near the city.
“We came here on weekends and we didn’t even know about Georgetown,” Kossove said. “When we did come down to Georgetown, we fell in love with it.”
Originally planning to retire and spend some time relaxing, Kossove met local businessman Steve Rothrock and purchased his furniture company called Augustus & Carolina. He and Kathryn decided to continue using the name.
Since then, the Kossoves have grown the company using their connections in Asia and expanded it to include an outdoor furniture store, a custom interiors company, a rug gallery and a small cafe.
Buying directly from manufacturers allows them to offer prices that are hard to find anywhere else, Kossove said.
Jeff and I stopped in the store one day last week and marveled at the incredible furniture and furnishings for indoor and outdoor living. And the cupcakes in the little café…..well…..let’s just say they’re a MUST!
So, congratulations to the Kossoves for not only running an excellent business, but scoring some good press!
