Members and guests at the private DeBordieu Club, about an hour north of Charleston, SC are anxiously awaiting the September completion of the golf course renovation project! Here’s an update from the Club.
Greens
The greens are doing very well and have reached approximately 90% coverage. The maintenance staff is now mowing the greens four days a week. Sodding around the greens on holes 8-18, including the putting green, is scheduled to start on July 15th. This process should take about a week to complete. While they may look great, the greens are still in the grow-in phase. We are asking all members to please refrain from walking on the greens.
P.B. Dye is onsite to rework the bunkers to the left of the 18th green. This work should be completed in 3-4 days.
Grass:
DeBordieu Club Golf Course Superintendent Brad Lattimore is happy to report that the sprigging of the golf course is complete. Modern Turf and Brad are happy with the grow-in progress so far. Hopefully, we will get some much needed rain this weekend. When traveling the golf course, please stay on the cart path at all times.
Tees:
With all the new grasses on the course, the sprinklers will be running almost non-stop during the day. Please keep this in mind if you plan to use the cart paths. Thank you for your cooperation and patience during this process.
