Halloween in Ricefields

Make sure you get your Ricefields Halloween guest passes! Everyone knows that Ricefields is the BEST place to trick or treat in all of Pawleys Island!

And that’s kinda a problem…..

Over the years, Ricefields’ Halloween traffic grew to the point it became unsafe for the trick or treaters, as well as residents who may need emergency services. But the board came up with a great solution!

Walk-in’s are welcome, but if non-residents want to drive into Ricefields on Halloween, after 4:30, they will need to be a guest of a Ricefields Resident. Residents must provide their guests with special guest passes.

Pawleys Island Wine Gala, Thursday, October 1, 2015

The Pawleys Island Festival of Music and Art has something for everyone, particularly those who enjoy food and wine! A benefit for PIFMA, Wine Gala attendees will sample over 100 wines from renowned vineyards around the world and enjoy delicious hors d’oeuvres prepared by eight of the area’s best chefs.

Taking place under the Performance Tent at the Reserve Golf Club of Pawleys Island, the evening will also include a three hour dessert tasting, a silent auction full of wonderful trips and a complimentary wine glass. Wines will be available for purchase at prices well below retail during this special event. And there’s also a Craft Beer Tasting.

During this year’s Pawleys Island Wine & Food Gala, those guests who choose to join the Collector’s Circle will have the opportunity to taste some very special, select, limited production wines. This special event happens simultaneously with the Gala.

Tickets to the Pawleys Island Wine and Food Gala are $100.

Tickets to the Collectors Circle are $175, and are limited to the first 50 guests and are only available by calling the Festival office at 843-626-8911.

Suzi’s Week of Miracles in Pawleys Island

Pawleys Island girl Suzi Roberts is on the road to becoming Miss America this year! On the way, she’s promoting the Children’s Miracle Network with a special Pawleys Island Week of Miracles this week, Monday May 11 – Friday, May 15.

It’s real easy to join her in this promotion…. all we have to do is shop and dine with participating “Miracle Merchants” and they will donate a portion of their proceeds to our local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

As the reigning Miss Harstville, (because we don’t have a pageant here in Pawleys Island, SC) she will compete for Miss South Carolina this summer, and hopefully Miss America.

Suzi’s personal platform is integrating arts education into standard curriculum, and therefore, a portion of proceeds donated this week will also go to the Cultural Council of Georgetown County.

Suzi is a senior at the University of South Carolina studying Public Relations and Sports and Entertainment Management, where she has cheered for the Gamecocks as a Carolina Girl!

This year, she’ll hit the NFL stage as an Atlanta Falcon Cheerleader!

There is just no stopping this young lady! I am so happy for her success, and am proud to call her my friend. Please join me this week in supporting Suzi and Pawleys Island’s Week of Miracles.
