Who knew that 37 years ago, when Anderson Wilson came to work at DeBordieu, he would become one of the most beloved employees DeBordieu has ever had.
And who knew that 36 years ago, General Manager, Jeff Kaz would end up guiding DeBordieu Club to become the most successful and sought-after club communities in the Southeast.
The two were recently recognized and honored at a wonderful Retirement Party at DeBordieu Club. Former DeBordieu Presidents, Tate Bowers, Scott Edwards, and Donnie McElveen spoke to the audience of DeBordieu Club members and employes about the positive impact Jeff and Anderson have had on the Club.
Paula Ford talked about the influence Anderson has had on the children of DeBordieu, and not just dressing up as the Easter Bunny, Santa’s Elf, and Captain America.
Scott Edwards commented how Jeff has been an unbelievable steward of the finances of DeBordieu Club over the years, allowing the Club to make improvements to the golf course, clubhouse, and fitness center without assessing the Membership.
There were clapping hands, big hugs and even some tears as DeBordieu Club members said farewell to Jeff and Anderson.
When it was time for Jeff and Anderson to address the audience, they, of course, went to the podeum together, as a team, and were presented with gifts from the Club members and fellow employes.
Jeff thanked the former DeBordieu leadership for giving him the opportunity to serve as General Manager, and recognized current employees who have done exceptional jobs and, over the years, become his second family.
A teary-eyed Anderson also expressed extreme gratitude to DeBordieu Club members and former leadership.
Though the years Jeff and Anderson have worked together to also make DeBordieu a fun place to work, and in doing so, became best friends! Employess who couldn’t come to the Club party showed up at Frank’s Outback the next evening to continue the celebration.
The legacy Jeff Kaz and Anderson Wilson leave behind at DeBordieu is beyond significant. They will never be forgotten.
