At 6:00AM a spectacular day emerged from a suspect weather report. Teams arrived to take part in the tournament breakfast provided by Pawleys Island Marine and DeBordieu Colony Real Estate. Captains gathered to go over the rules, and then the teams hit the water trying to score the 3 biggest Redfish, Trout, and Flounder over the 16 inch minimum. While on the water, teams enjoyed box lunches sponsored by Mecca Property Management. The day came to a close at 3:00pm, with boats returning and scorecards registered. The fish challenged everyone on this day with most boats struggling to catch any qualifying flounder. As the participants congregated at the DeBordieu landing, everyone shared a story of the one that got away, their intent on returning next year, and their belief that this event will continue to grow. Many thanks to everyone that helped, sponsored, and participated in the Inaugural CF4CF Fishing Tournament!
The winning totals were as follows:
1st Place: Perry Peace & Jamie Beard = 129.925 inches
2nd Place: Fred Rourk & Lewis Kolb = 96.00 inches
3rd Place: Terry Guyton, Trevor Guyton & Dale Lacy = 77.00 inches
Bonus Prize: Elliott Koonce, Jordan Pate & Jay Haas*
*for the most spotted side of a qualifying Redfish: 5 Spots
In its inaugural event the CF4CF Fishing Tournament contributed $4,300.00 for the South Carolina Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
