| In The Pink – A Special Thank You from Member of the Tidelands Health Foundation Board of Directors and DeBordieu resident, Sherby McGrath.
On behalf of the Tidelands Health Foundation Board of Directors and staff, I want to thank DeBordieu Club members and staff for their generous support of two recent You raised $5,000 for the Foundation’s Breast Care Fund! A special thank-you to Sassy Tugwell, In the Pink chair, and her committee members, Laura Royster and Bonnie King. To the club members who donated beautiful artwork, woodwork, photographs and other artistic creations or who purchased and donated gift cards, thank you for making the raffle such a success. Also kudos the Matt Williams, head golf professional; Jessica Tadlock, member relations coordinator; and Dori Laffin, office manager, for all the work they did to support these events. In the past three years that DeBordieu Club has sponsored In the Pink events, you have raised well over $20,000 for the Breast Care Fund! Managed by the Tidelands Community Care Network, this Fund supports a full time community health care worker to advocate, educate and provide care coordination to low income women for breast and cervical health and early detection of breast cancer. The Fund has paid for Breast Models to teach women how to perform self-exams, personal mammogram tracking booklets, a compression wrap for a woman living alone so she can manage post-mastectomy care independently and has started to offer cold caps, which decrease hair loss, to low income working poor women undergoing Thank you again!
