Member Guest Golf at DeBordieu Club, 2018

The DeBordieu Club Member Guest Golf Tournaments are two of the most anticiapated events at DeBordieu Colony. Below is the information about how to sign up for both the Ladies’ Member Guest, and the Men’s. Make sure you mark your calendars so you don’t miss out on the registration deadlines!

DeBordieu Club 2018 Ladies’ Member-Guest Tournament

Wednesday, May 16 – Friday, May 18, 2018

The sign up period for the Ladies’ Member-Guest will open Tuesday, March 6^th and close Tuesday, April 24^th. All lady members may request a spot in the 2018 Ladies’ Member-Guest Tournament. Foursomes may be made up of 1 membership holder and 3 guests, 2 membership holders and 2 guests, or a dependent member may field a foursome just the same as outlined above. On March 6th the sign-up sheet will be located in the Golf Shop. Requests may be made in person or by phone. Details regarding the event’s theme will also be provided as we get closer to the sign-up date.
*A dependent member may be a member or a guest.
**A foursome may not be made up of 3 membership holders and a guest.

Tournament Entry and Lottery Information

Please read in its entirety. Registration will open on February 9^th.

Eligibility: All male amateur membership holders and dependents in good standing. All members and guests must have amateur status and have a verifiable USGA handicap index.

Tournament Field and Sign-up Period: The tournament field will be comprised of 60 two man teams. Friday, February 9th through Tuesday, February 13th at 2:00 p.m. is advanced sign up for GOLF MEMBERS ONLY!! On Tuesday, February 13^th if there are more than 60 Golf members signed up, a lottery will be held to create the 60 team field and the order of the waitlist. Tuesday, 2/13 after 2:00 p.m., we will begin accepting entries to fill the rest of the field or to continue filling a waitlist in the following manner: All membership types and dependents may request a spot in the tournament field. On Friday, February 23rd at 2 p.m. registration will close. If a lottery is needed for the remaining open spots, all entries will be put into their respective membership categories and the tournament field and waiting list will be drawn based on membership type in the following order: Golf, Sports, Tennis, Beach Social Members, and Dependent members. After February 23rd, to fill the field and/or continue taking alternates, entries will be received on a first come, first serve basis with no regard to membership type or dependent status.
* Regarding team make up – Teams may be made up of 1 membership holder and 1 guest, 1 membership holder and 1 dependent, 1 dependent and a guest, or 2 dependents, all with the same form of priority at registration time as outlined above. A team may not be made up of 2 membership holders.
**Regarding dependent members, children of members will gain access before grandchildren.

Registration: Registration forms will be sent by email on the morning of February 9^th. At this time, male membership holders may request a spot in the 2018 Blue Heron Men’s Member-Guest Tournament as outlined above. Requests may be made in person, by phone (843)527-6000 or fax (843) 527-6021. Faxed entries must be confirmed by phone. No emails please.

Tee Options: The Tournament Tee is available to all participants. Participants 65 years or older on or before June 7^th of this year, may opt to play the Middle Tee. Players that choose to move up to the Middle Tee will lose 1 shot per side in each of the five tournament rounds. When registering for the tournament we ask that you please fill out your application in its entirety and clearly indicate your choice of tee. If a participant has selected the Middle Tee, he must include his birth date as well. Below you will find the tournament yardages for both the Tournament and Middle Tees. These yardages will closely resemble the official scorecard we will use during the 2018 Blue Heron Men’s Member-Guest.

DeBordieu Parent/Child Golf Tournament, Sunday July 12

At DeBordieu, it’s all about families! This Sunday, July 12, is the DeBordieu Club Parent Child Golf Tournament.

The tournament is open to any Parent or Grandparent that is a DeBordieu member, with a teammate that is their child or grandchild, and a junior golfer.

The adult must have a verifiable handicap index.

Format: Captains Choice (Restricted Drives), the Adults will receive 80% of his or her handicap from the tee they decide to play.

The juniors will play from designated tees based on age and gender. The twosome will play 9-holes of Captain’s Choice with restrictions. The team must play at least one of each junior’s shots on each hole of play. Handicaps will be subtracted from the total 9-hole score.

Entry Fee: $15 per team (plus golfing fees) and includes beverages.

Sounds a little complicated to me….. but it also sounds like a whole lot of fun.
