Today is my 5 year anniversary at DeBordieu Colony Real Estate! Well…. this go ‘round, anyway.
As you probably know, I started working at DeBordieu in 1986 as the Club Membership Coordinator and Marketing Manager. Edens and Avant had just bought the community from Wallace and Lucille Pate, and brought Pete Dye in to revamp the golf course. They needed someone with Sales, Marketing, Public Relations and Advertising experience. It was like they made the job just for me! It was a perfect fit.
I’ve left DeBordieu a few times…. Once to serve as the Vice President of Marketing at the Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce, and once to get to know my children better and be a stay-at-home-Mom for a few years.
During the time I was not at onsite at DeBordieu, I also had some great experiences coordinating the marketing efforts of two upscale resort communities, (Pirates Cove in Nag’s Head, NC, and Wild Dunes in Charleston, SC), and I sold real estate in the Pawleys Island, Litchfield, and Murrells Inlet areas with Coldwell Banker Chicora and Litchfield Real Estate. I even once sold a few memberships at the Reserve Golf Club.
Jeff and I got married in 1990, so even though there were times I was not physically on site at DeBordieu, my heart was here, in more ways than one.
My clients tell me all the time how there is no place to live quite like DeBordieu, but I can tell you, there’s also really no place quite like DeBordieu to work either. I love selling real estate onsite at DeBordieu, and hope to be here for many years to come.
DeBordieu Colony is an oceanfront community located just south of Pawleys Island, South Carolina featuring private golf and tennis, saltwater creek access to the ocean, a manned security gate, and luxury homes and villas surrounded by thousands of acres of wildlife and nature preserves.
